Oh, I have found that getting to be a better photographer includes a period where your pictures start to SUCK before they get better!! Some of the first shots of mine are the best, but now I have so much "knowledge" in my head that I have to really work at getting my pictures taken now.
Here's one that I like that I took over at the park a week or so ago. Melissa was stopping for a breath and I loved the way the sun hit her face...
I also have a 50mm lens that is very finicky - you really do have to have everything work just right to get great pictures with it - and I usually fail in either aperture, distance away from the subject or focus! LOL!!
I am taking an online photography class that starts from scratch and I HOPE that this will help me start to just BE a photographer instead of trying to learn HOW to be one, ya know?
I'll be posting my assignment pictures here so that I have somewhat of a record of my progress.

Good for you! That photo rules!! My pictures all suck so I really have no photog advice, but I've worked with some really good shutterbugs if that counts!!
That's a beautiful photo! I'm one of those lazy put-it-on-auto type photographers most of the time but also hope to take a class soon!
